Every prescription weight loss medicine starts low and moves up in set steps. Our discount code cards use the step number instead of the dose. Here is the dose behind each step for all four medicines, with the lowest UK price at every one.

Mounjaro steps

How the steps work

You start on Step 1 so your body can get used to the medicine. After a set time, four weeks for the weekly jabs, your prescriber can move you to Step 2, then Step 3, and so on. Each step is a higher dose. Side effects tend to be strongest in the first weeks on a new step.

You do not have to climb every step. Plenty of people stay on a middle step for months. The top step is the highest licensed dose, not a target.

Most pharmacies ask at each order whether you want to stay on your current step or move up, and the prescriber signs it off. The price rises with the step, so check the lowest price for your next step before you move. Discount codes by pharmacy.

Step questions

What is Step 1?

Step 1 is the first dose in the schedule for your medicine. For Mounjaro that is 2.5mg, for Wegovy 0.25mg, for the Wegovy pill 1.5mg and for Foundayo 0.8mg. Offers tied to Step 1 cover a first order at the starting dose.

How long do I stay on each step?

For the weekly jabs the usual pattern is at least four weeks on a step before moving up. The daily pills follow their own schedule, set by the prescriber. Your prescriber decides when you move and most pharmacies ask at each order whether you want to stay or step up.

Do I have to go all the way to the top step?

No. Many people settle on a middle step. The right step is the one that works for you with side effects you can live with, and that is a decision for you and your prescriber.

If I switch pharmacy, do I start at Step 1 again?

Usually not. If you have kept up your doses you can stay on your current step or move to the next one, as agreed with the new prescriber. If you have missed doses the prescriber may ask you to drop back, so tell them.

Why do discount code cards say Step 1 instead of the dose?
