Mounjaro for women: the benefits, the evidence and who can get it

What Mounjaro does for women, from SURMOUNT-1 where two in three people were women: benefits beyond weight, NICE rules for NHS access and points for women.

  • In SURMOUNT-1, where 67.5% of people were women, average loss was 15% to 21% of body weight at 72 weeks.
  • Blood pressure, waist size and blood sugar improved too, and sleep apnoea halved in a separate trial.
  • NHS access follows NICE TA1026: a BMI of 35 or more plus a weight-related condition, rolled out in phases.
